Watch Trailer For Supposed New Tupac Shakur Movie. Real Or Fake?

It’s amazing to think that 16 years after Tupac Shakur’s death a movie about his life hasn’t been brought to the big screen.

 

It appeared that a Morgan Creek Productions backed biopic would be the first scripted flick about the charismatic rapper who has reached legendary status. But a two-year legal battle between the company and Tupac’s mother, Afeni Shakur, delayed the project.

 

In February 2011 the two parties reached an agreement which seemed to clear the path for things to get underway.

 

Director Antoine Fuqua (“Training Day”) was picked to helm the movie, but Fuqua backed out because of trouble finding a suitable actor to play Tupac.

 

 

 

In October 2011 John Singleton reportedly agreed to direct the movie, however a month later he backed out for the same reasons as his predecessor Antoine Fuqua.

 

Since then there has been very little news about the Morgan Creek project. Now it looks like an indie director out of Houston might be attempting to beat Morgan Creek to the punch.

 

Noah Mortel has released a trailer for a Tupac movie. At the end of the clip it says the movie is coming out in 2013.

 

There’s virtually no other information online about Noah’s project other that the youtube trailer. His IMDB page doesn’t even have it listed as being in production.

 

So we have to ask ourselves is this real or fake?

Tupac Shakur’s Hologram Appearance At Coachella Sparks Huge Sales Increase On His Recordings

I will tell you this. Tupac will never die. This guy comes out with a new record every year. Ever since the hologram thing at Coachella Tupac’s sales has went up. Even Suge Knight last week said that he even thinks Tupac may still be alive.

Tupac Shakur’s virtual appearance at Coachella not only got people talking, it also sparked an increase in record sales for the late rapper according to Billboard.biz.

 

Pac’s 1988 Greatest Hits album returned to the Billboard 200 charts where it currently sits at No. 129 with 4000 copies sold. All Eyez On Me (2,000; up 95%) and Me Against the World (1,000; up 53%) also saw increases in sales.

 

Three of the rapper’s singles saw sales increases as well.

 

“Hail Mary” sold 13,000 downloads last week for a 1,530% sales increase. “California Love” sold 11,000 downloads (up 119%), while ”2 Of Amerikaz Most Wanted” sold 9,000 (up 881%).

“I can’t sit up here and say I’m bitter to Rick Ross, ‘cus like anybody else, we don’t know Rick Ross,” Suge said according to HipHopDX. “That’s a guy who uses somebody else’s name. This guy comes from being a correctional officer. I don’t got nothing negative [against him] personally, I just feel like he do do good music, and you can’t take that from him. That boy got bars, he’s gonna write…at the same time, I feel like there’s a line you cross, and Rick Ross crossed that line. If you’re gonna be with guy [Diddy] who killed Tupac, you can’t go turn around and do a record [called] ‘Tupac Back’…Rick Ross is a grown a$$ n*gga. I’ll beat the dog sh*t out of Rick Ross for manipulating these people out here.“

As was the case with Tupac Shakur, a sex tape has emerged involving late West Coast singer Nate Dogg according to TMZ.

The 5-minute tape is being shopped to various porn outlets without any offers being made so far. Hopefully a buyer won’t surface and Nate can rest in peace.

My style and/or skills have been compared to: Biggie more than anything, I’ve heard alot of comparisons though. From Jay-Z, Nas, 50 Cent to Tupac, Big L, and Nate Dogg. The streets called me everybody, but I got alotta styles, gotta stay fresh.

My standout records and/or moments have been: Biggest accomplishment was definitely being crowned best freestyler in the nation by Eminem after winning the Red Bull EmSee finals. Other than that, opening for Chip Tha Ripper, Wiz Khalifa, Wale, and Raekwon were all great moments for me.

I’m gonna change the game by: Kickin’ shit from a side people not really hearin it from. I wanna really connect with people through my music, let em know what im goin through, have fun/grow wit the people, and get them through some shit too.

Suge Knight To Oversee Waka Flocka Flame’s Career

Waka Flocka Flame has revealed that he will be working closely with Suge Knight on future endeavors. Speaking with XXLMag.com, the Southern rapper confirmed that the former Death Row Records mogul will oversee his Brick Squad Monopoly West record company and has already brokered a movie deal.

“You gotta really start pulling in people in the game who know the game. Suge is not the only one. I’mma start snatching in the real ones. Suge helped me get a good movie deal. Now I need to get on the TV screen. Ain’t nothing wrong with fuckin’ with some Gs. I fuck with Master P too. They’re just good for information homie,” he said. “[Knight] is helping me oversee the company. [...] I’m not trying to be ‘Pac, I’m not trying to be Death Row. I’m Brick Squad Monopoly. My mother is still my manager. I ain’t changing shit. It is what it is. But its like having Jordan and Kobe. Why not play with both?”

Waka is currently prepping the release of two mixtapes – Waka Flocka James 3 and Lock Out with French Montana – both impacting tomorrow. Additionally, his next studio album will release later this year.

Hip Hop Album Sales: The Week Ending 10/16/2011

J. Cole is no longer at the top of the Rap/Hip Hop charts this week, but who’s at #1? Murs and Ski Beatz rocket their way onto the charts, while Styles P holds a Top 100 spot.

Lil Wayne re-claimed the top of the Hip Hop charts, after three weeks of J. Cole’s tenure. Additionally, Murs’ first album with Dame Dash’s Blu Roc Records squeezed onto the charts, as this week’s key addition.

Lil Wayne”s Tha Carter IV fell three spots to #9, as the only Hip Hop/Rap album in the Top 10. The platinum works features the likes of Tech N9ne, Andre 3000 and Nas, as the top-selling 2011 Hip Hop/Rap release. Wayne’s artist, Nicki Minaj climbed eight spots last week with her solo debut, Pink Friday.

Cole World:  The Sideline Story by J. Cole sold over 30,000 third-week units. Backed by Sony Records, Jay-Z’s Roc Nation flagship fell six spots to #11. Largely self-produced, the Fayetteville, North Carolina native’s album featured Drake and Missy Elliott, in addition to Jay.

Jay-Z and Kanye West’s watch The Throne maintained the #13 spot. The Roc-A-Fella alumni’s first collaborative album features production contributions from 88-Keys, RZA and Lex Luger.

Jay’s wife Beyonce and her 4 fell four spots to #23. The pregnant Pop/R&B superstar’s fourth solo offering features an appearance by Outkast’s Andre 3000, along with production from Kanye West and his production team – including Jeff Bhasker, as well as a writing credit to former G.O.O.D. Music artist Consequence.

Dance/Pop/Rap group LMFAO’s sophomore album, Sorry For Party Rocking is headed towards 200,000 units sold. The Interscope Records group, co-founded by the iconic Motown Records’ Barry Gordy’s grandson, worked with will.i.am and Busta Rhymes on their latest album, which charted at #30.

Eminem and Royce Da 5’9′s first full-length album,  Hell : The Sequel, (as Bad Meets Evil) sold another 10,000 units. The gold-certified Shady/Interscope Records project is marching towards 600,000 units sold. The album features Bruno Mars and Slaughterhouse.

Former Athletic Mic League deejay-turned-Soul singer Mayer Hawthorne’s sophomore album, How Do You Do crossed the 15,000 benchmark on the charts. The Stones Throw Records artist, now backed by major label Universal Republic, worked with Snoop Dogg on his second go-round.

Compton, California’s Game is closing in on 200,000 units with his R.E.D. Album The Aftermath/Interscope Records star maintained a Top 100 spot of his fourth solo works. This album features Tyler, The Creator, Kendrick Lamar and Rick Ross.

Yonkers, New York emcee Styles P’s latest solo endeavor Master of Ceremonies fell 67 spots to #98. The longtime member of The L.O.X./D-Block’s E1 Entertainment effort features contributions from veterans such as Warren G, Pete Rock and Pharoahe Monch. This is marketed as The Ghost’s fourth studio solo, his first in nearly four years.

Taking the #200 spot, Los Angeles, California emcee Murs’ latest project, Love & Rockets, Volume 1debuted on the charts. The Blu Roc/DD172 Records is almost entirely produced by Ski Beatz. The work features label-mate Tabi Bonney, as well as D.I.T.C.’s O.C. and Black Hippy’s Ab-Soul.
