Curren$y Performance At The Music Box: Article By DJ Doleak
First and foremost I would like to say that this Curren$y cat has a pretty big following in hip hop. I have heard his music and I think it is ok. I also had happened to go to his event last night which a lot of people were in attendance for. Curren$y stage was filled with couches and a lot of people in the background which was his entourage. I thought a lot of his songs was very boring and him reciting his lyrics on a couch did not make me want to look up on the stage too many times either. I think I spent more time talking to my friends then I did looking up on stage. Curren$y repeatedly kept on saying “jetlife” after every song was over.Which was just annoying after a while.
His songs never did get the crowd excited enough were they thought he was doing something great. I don’t think his fans went home thinking that he gave a great performance. I thought his fans really wanted him to put on a great performance but I just didn’t think Curren$y was capable of doing that. I mean when you are doing your performance sitting on a couch it just gives me the attitude that you just don’t give a damn. The only thing that I liked from the Curren$y performance was the fact that he had a female deejay. So, next time Curren$y has a show he can at least get rid of the couches so he can do the performance standing up.
