Drake album did real well for last week. He has the #1 album without a doubt. Young Money is really doing there thang in the hip hop world. Whether you like there album or not they are making it happen. Congrats to the Young Money Family.
Drake’s Take Care album was expected to do big first week numbers and it delivered.
Official Nielsen Soundscan numbers come out tomorrow, but according to HitsDailyDouble, the album sold 659,190 copies to easily claim the top spot. Michael Buble’s Christmas album will take the No. 2 spot with 170, 071 units sold.
Take Care marks Drake’s second consecutive No. 1 selling album following his debut, Thank Me Later, which sold 447,000 it’s first week out.
Prior to knowing what Drake’s final numbers would be his Young Money boss Lil Wayne spoke to MTV about getting a point across with the disc.
First and foremost I would like to say that this Curren$y cat has a pretty big following in hip hop. I have heard his music and I think it is ok. I also had happened to go to his event last night which a lot of people were in attendance for. Curren$y stage was filled with couches and a lot of people in the background which was his entourage. I thought a lot of his songs was very boring and him reciting his lyrics on a couch did not make me want to look up on the stage too many times either. I think I spent more time talking to my friends then I did looking up on stage. Curren$y repeatedly kept on saying “jetlife” after every song was over.Which was just annoying after a while.
His songs never did get the crowd excited enough were they thought he was doing something great. I don’t think his fans went home thinking that he gave a great performance. I thought his fans really wanted him to put on a great performance but I just didn’t think Curren$y was capable of doing that. I mean when you are doing your performance sitting on a couch it just gives me the attitude that you just don’t give a damn. The only thing that I liked from the Curren$y performance was the fact that he had a female deejay. So, next time Curren$y has a show he can at least get rid of the couches so he can do the performance standing up.
