Kobe Bryant Locked In Legal Battle With His Mother, Pamela Bryant Over Memorabilia Sale

Kobe Bryant and his mom aren’t seeing eye to eye on a proposed sale of some of his memorabilia. As a result they have wound up in court.

According to TMZ, Pamela Bryant was paid a $450,000 advance by Goldin Auctions of New Jersey for the right to sell a hundreds of Kobe’s possessions, which include game and practice jerseys from his days at Lower Merion High School, trophies, a 2000 signed All-Star game ball, his varsity high school letters, a Lakers jacket and shorts plus more.

Pamela claims her son gave her the items, but Kobe doesn’t agree and is attempting to block the sale.

Goldin has filed a lawsuit, naming Kobe as the defendant. They are asking a judge to declare Pamela the owner of the items so they proceed with the sale.

The Los Angeles Lakers Need A Change.

This year for the L.A. Lakers have been everything of the word terrible. It has been unbearable to watch the Lakers this season. Ever since they stepped on the court at the beginning of the season versus the Mavericks. This Lakers’ team has been unenthusiastic and shown no desire to win. Kobe Bryant has almost done everything in his power to not give up on this team. Dwight Howard does not have what it takes to get us to the championship once Kobe Bryant retires. I mean Dwight Howard is not even close. This team is very old and they are going to have to make some changes next season. This roster that they have is way too old. I think their oldness showed with all these injuries they have had. Also, the coach Mike D’Antoni is not going to lead us to a championship either. This guy does not have the leadership quality to lead us to a championship either. It is just not in his blood.

It will be interesting to see what the General Manager Mitch will do. He has a lot of important decisions to make. All I know is this series with the San Antonio Spurs is over.

Dwight Howard: Sign Or Let Go?

Dwight Howard

Dwight Howard

I really believe Magic Johnson is right. If Dwight Howard can not lead us to the playoffs then we need not to sign this guy. Also if we do make the playoffs we have to give the team that we are playing a run for their money. Dwight has been inconsistent this whole year. He has changed a little bit in Los Angeles. At first he didn’t understand the demands of Lakers fans but not that he has been playing here I think he kind of gets it. We as Lakers fans want to win now. We do not have next year or the next to not win. If Dwight Howard do sign with us. He still has to step it up as a player. I am tired of him being mr. nice guy and letting things slide. We need him to learn how to be a leader. We all know Mike D’Antoni will be fired after this season. That is a no brainer because we all know he can not help Dwight become a leader.

Then again Dwight is going to have to start taking responsibility for himself and start demanding things from his teammates. But, first he must lead his team to the playoffs.

Dwight Howard Playing Like A Man.

The L.A. Lakers are definitely showing improvement in their games since the all-star break. Dwight Howard is showing improvements in his game and showing signs of being an all-star center. I feel that Dwight Howard’s back is getting better and that he is starting to understand the expectations of Los Angeles. He is starting to figure out that this is not Orlando. Los Angeles wants to win now. We have no time for next year. This Lakers’ team is only going to go as far as Dwight Howard carries us. Kobe Bryant can not do it all alone.

We saw Kobe doing most of the work in the first half of the season and look where that got us. That got us below .5oo and Mike Brown fired. Also, I thought Dwight Howard was playing like a pussy the first half of the season. He was worried about people liking him to him being worried if he was going to get injured instead of just going out and playing. Now it looks like he is back to having fun and recommitting himself to the team. That is what we are going to need if we are going to make it to the playoffs and make a run for the championship.

Lakers Owner Jerry Buss Passed Away at Age 80

Lakers_jerry_Bus_2013

Los Angeles Lakers owner Jerry Buss died on Monday. Although details about his passing are scarce, it is known that Buss had been suffering from an undisclosed form of cancer for some time. He was 80 years old.

The Lakers won 10 NBA titles while Buss was owner of the team. He drafted or signed some of the greatest stars in NBA history to the organization, including Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Magic Johnson, James Worthy, Byron Scott, Shaquille O’Neal and Kobe Bryant.

As noted by ESPN, Buss was credited with introducing “Showtime” to Los Angeles. When he took over the Lakers, Los Angeles was mainly known for being home to its beloved baseball team, The Dodgers. Buss’ objective was to make the city of Los Angeles synonymous with the Lakers and many people would probably say that he accomplished his goal.

Buss purchased the team from Jack Kent Cooke in 1979 for $67.5 million. According to Forbes magazine, the Lakers are now worth $1 billion. It is believed that the only franchise worth more than the Lakers is the New York Knicks.

Although Buss had stopped running the day-to-day operations of the team, he was involved in the Lakers’ acquisitions of Steve Nash and Dwight Howard during the summer. Unfortunately he had not been able to attend a game this season.

Buss had been hospitalized several times in the past two years. In December of 2011 he began suffering from blood clots in his legs. His children, Jim and Jeanie, will continue to run basketball and business operations for the franchise.

Born on Jan. 27, 1933 as Gerald Hatten Buss, the Utah native received a doctorate in physical chemistry from USC. He attended the University of Wyoming as an undergraduate. Buss made his money in real estate. His career started with a $1,000 investment in a Los Angeles-area apartment building.

Lakers Need To Get It Together.

dantoni

There has been many times when a owner goes out and tries to buy a championship. I feel like the Lakers do that a lot. I feel this team is very talented but at times the effort they put out on that court is just terrible. The person that has let me down on the Lakers and has let down the city of Los Angeles is Dwight Howard. He has should me nothing but mediocre play so far. I have never meet a player besides Shaq that miss so many free throws. I mean he has not shown me what he can do since he got here. Sometimes when I am watching the game I forget that he is in the game.

Also I feel that Pau Gasol I always has those moments within the year where he is just lost. I mean this is a guy who still hasn’t adapted to American basketball. His brother Marc has but Pau hasn’t. Pau is very soft down low and can never get tough. I mean if Pau keeps playing like this then he might as well just retire. As for the coach D’Antoni, he is a below average coach. If I am going to see this type of play with no defense I mean we might as well kept Mike Brown. This Lakers team that we have right now is playing below average. It is about that time we call Phil Jackson and put him on the sidelines.

Shaquille O’Neal Jabs Dwight Howard In New Freestyle [Video]

Video After The Jump

Shaquille O’Neal is not a fan of Dwight Howard. In recent weeks he’s taken shots at the Los Angeles Lakers big man.

Shaq has called Dwight a fraud who should have stayed with the Orlando Magic. He also said Andrew Bynum is a better player and Dwight will never compare to great Lakers centers of the past like himself, Wilt Chamberlain and Kareem-Abdul Jabbar according to USA Today.

I have three sons, and I always tell them that if you want to call yourself big then you have big shoes to fill. Anybody who calls himself big has big shoes to fill. Right now, he’s off pace. He has to get himself on pace if he wants to call himself big,” said Shaq.

Shaq was recently chilling with Loaded Lux and Cory Gunz when he filmed a funny freestyle where he jabs Howard again. Check that out below.

Metta World Peace Gets 7 Game Suspension

We have recieved the news that Metta World Peace will be suspended for seven games. A few days ago Ron Artest elbowed James Harden after he dunked the ball on a fast break. Artest tried to run down the court but bumped into James Harden and threw an elbow at him and gave Harden a concussion. Ron Artest was then ejected from the game. I believe the seven game suspension for Ron Artest is more than fair.

Racks on Racks $ Kobe Bryant just dropped $329,000 on a brand new Ferrari

Why not if you got it you got it and he got it ….wonder what that feels like writing that check without flinching like here ya go ill pick it up now thanks no payment plan necessary .

According to the intrepid reporters at TMZ, Kobe Bryant is now the proud owner of a Ferrari 458 Italia, a fancy-and-fast-as-hell “supercar” that officially makes him the coolest guy in school. (Or, at least, the coolest guy on the Los Angeles Lakers bench.)
“We’re told the Black Mamba paid $329,000 yesterday for the car … which he paid for in full with a check,” TMZ reported. It was probably a designer Batman check, because Kobe is Batman. (Also: Duh.)
