Lil Wayne’s latest album I Am Not a Human Being II hit store shelves this week and early sales projections are in.
Hits Daily Double is projecting the CD to sell between 190-210K in it’s opening week. Probably not the kind of week YMCMB was hoping for considering the features list that includes Drake, Future, 2 Chainz, Trina, Nicki Minaj, Big Sean and Cory Gunz.
Final numbers will be in next week. We’ll update you when those come in.
MTV’s Hottest MC’s in the Game list has reached it’s conclusion as the final two spots were handed out tonight.
Coming in at No. 2 is Atlanta rapper 2 Chainz. Some people may question Tity Boi being ranked this high, but there’s no question that he was everywhere in 2012.
His album Based On a T.R.U. Story debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with sales of 147,000 copies in its first week. The project spawned the hits “I’m Different,” “No Lie” and “Birthday Song.” The album was nominated for Best Rap Album at the 55th Grammy Awards
“No Lie” has since been certified platinum with sales over 1 million.
2 Chainz also appeared on A$AP Rocky’s “F*ckin’ Problems,” Nicki Minaj’s “Beez in the Trap,” Kanye West’s “Mercy” and many more.
Coming in at No. 1 on the list is Compton’s Kendrick Lamar. The Top Dawg Entertainment artist came into his own in 2012.
K. Dot’s good kid, m.A.A.d city album sold 242,000 copies in its first week and has been certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).
The project featured the hit singles “Swimming Pools (Drank)” and “Poetic Justice.”
Kendrick made guest appearances on A$AP Rocky’s “F*ckin’ Problems,” Birdman’s “B-Boyz“; Schoolboy Q’s “Blessed” and A$AP’s “1 Train.“
Aerosmith singer and former American Idol judge Steven Tyler has angered Nicki Minaj with comments he made to MTV about her.
Tyler was asked if it was difficult to be a judge on the talent show. While giving his answer Tyler was critical of Minaj’s judging skills.
“You just have to give your opinion. It wasn’t hard for me, but I would imagine it’s hard for some people, and they need a manager to say ‘Shut the f*ck up, and just give them your opinion,’ ” Tyler said. ”These kids, they just got out of a car from the Midwest somewhere and they’re in New York City, they’re scared to death; you’re not going to get the best [out of them]. … If it was Bob Dylan, Nicki Minaj would have had him sent to the cornfield! Whereas, if it was Bob Dylan with us, we would have brought the best of him out, as we did with Phillip Phillips. Just saying.”
Minaj quickly responded to the criticism by heading to her Twitter account to vent to her 15 million followers.
“Steven Tyler said I would have sent Bob Dylan to a cornfield??? Steven, you haven’t seen me judge one single solitary contestant yet,” Minaj wrote, before accusing Tyler of being racist. “I understand you really wanted to keep your job but take that up with the producers. I haven’t done anything to you. That’s a racist comment. You assume that I wouldn’t have liked Bob Dylan??? why? black? rapper? what? go f*ck yourself and worry about yourself babe.“
Minaj was far from done. Egged on by her “barbz” she continued her diatribe. She also managed to throw in a dig at Mariah Carey.
“When Steven 1st went on Idol he was ridiculed by his peers & fans alike. Called a sell out. So what does he do? Ridicule the next judge,” Nicki continued.

Snoop Dogg gives Barack Obama the thumbs up in the 2012 Presidential Election.
It’s election season, and while many Hip Hop artists have been relatively quiet as to their candidate of choice, a few emcees are finally speaking out. Now, according to XXL via Rolling Stone, rapper Snoop Dogg has thrown his weight behind President Barack Obama in the election.
In a recent press conference for his new documentary Reincarnation, the currently known at Snoop Lion stumped for President Obama in his bid for re-election. Snoop commended Obama’s policies over the past four years, saying that many of them helped undo much of the social and economic turmoil created by former President George W. Bush’s policies.
“Let me begin, Obama for four more years, man,” he said. “Bush fucked up for eight years, so, I mean, you gotta at least give him eight years. He cleaned half the shit up in four years, realistically. It ain’t like y’all gave him a clean house. Y’all gave him a house where the TV didn’t work, the toilet was stuffed up – everything was wrong with the house.
He continued, “He had to come in and get your thing together, then he knocked down our most hated, the most wanted, the one who had our terror on orange or red or whatever color it was on [Osama bin Laden] – he went and found him, the one Bush couldn’t seem to find, the one who seemed to fly away in the dead of night and all that…so give him [another] four years to get his thing together and finish this deal out. You heard what Clinton said. You loved Clinton, didn’t you?
American Idol’s plans to add Nicki Minaj to their judging panel may have hit a major snag because TMZ is reporting that Mariah Carey is not happy about the decision and may walk.
According to the report, Mariah was led to believe she would be the only woman on the judge’s panel. When Mariah was told that Nicki would be joining she hung up the phone.
The whole thing is still up in the air because behind the scenes the powers that be can’t decide whether to have a panel consisting of two women and one man or two women and two men.
Randy Jackson’s position on the new season has yet to be decided. Idol officials are still bedating if he should be brought back in his familiar spot as a judge or take on a new mentor’s role.
And finally there is the issue of the panel’s race. Officials are worried that middle America may not tune if there is an all black panel of Minaj, Carey and Jackson.
