Torae-For The Record Album Review By:DJ Doleak

Torae dropped us another dope album. I was not disappointed by this album at all. Torae for the most part knows how to pick out dope beats and rhyme over them. The Pete Rock joint that he has on here called “That Raw” is a dope ass song. The bass line Pete Rock put on here just gives me chills. Torae shows his lyrical and writing skills on this song. Torae is a man who is never satisfied with mainstream hip hop and will never compromise his art for a radio hit. Large Professor has a song on the album called “Do the Math” where Torae ask questions to the listeners that make you think. Large Pro gave Torae an astounding beat too. DJ Premier produced a song on the album too called For the Record which is the name of the album too. Premo and Torae collaboration on here is another solid song on here too.

Torae for the most part does a solid job on here showing his writing skills and being able to ride a beat too. There is only a couple of songs that might not be as strong as the other songs like “What It Sounds Like” or the song “Over You” but the rest of the songs are pretty dope. So, saying all of that go pick up the album for real. Congrats to Torae and Fat Beats on the album. Oh ya Torae we need another Double Barrel album with you and Marco Polo.
