Trayvon Martin All Over Again? 17-Year Old Jordan Davis Shot & Killed By Michael Dunn In Florida After Argument Over Loud Music

In a case that is being compared to the Trayvon Martin killing, 17-year old Jordan Davis was shot to death on Friday at a Jacksonville gas station after he and several friends got into an argument with 45-year old Michael Dunn.

Michael Dunn

Dunn had pulled into the gas station with his girlfriend. While she was inside the station he got into a heated argument with a group of black teens in an SUV after he asked them to turn down their music.

Dunn claims he saw a gun in the SUV and felt threatened. He opened fire on the vehicle letting off eight shots, two of which struck and killed Davis.

Dunn, who is white is represented by attorney Robin Lemonidis. She told CNN that her client may seek protection under the state’s controversial Stand Your Ground Law.

Self defense applies because Mr. Dunn was threatened,” Lemonidis said. “We can’t say what the defense will be at this stage … but Stand Your Ground is a possibility.

There were no guns found inside the teens’ car, the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said.

Ron Davis, the victim’s father, is devastated. He said there was no justifiable reason for Davis to shoot at the SUV his son was riding in.

He did something that there was no defense for,” the father said of the suspect.

Ron added that his son was a good kid with no gang affiliation. He said the teens initially thought the gun Dunn pulled out was fake. When they realized it wasn’t they tried to back up their vehicle before being caught in the gunfire.

Lemonidis says the four teens in the SUV were threatening to kill her client.

Kill that motherf*cker. That motherf*cker’s dead. You dead b*tch,” are some of the threats that were shouted at Dunn according to Lemonidis. “And he sees a shotgun coming over the rim of the SUV, which is higher than his Jetta. All he sees are heavily tinted front windows that are up and the back windows that are down. And the car has at least four black men in it. And he doesn’t know how old anybody is. He doesn’t know anything, but he knows a shotgun when he sees one.”

Lemomidis says any comparisons to the Trayvon Martin case are preposterous.

That’s ridiculous. Michael is not a vigilante,” the attorney said. “He’s a brilliant software developer. It was never his intention to kill anyone. There are no comparisons to the Trayvon Martin situation. [Dunn] is devastated and horrified by the death of the teen.

Dunn was arrested at his home on Saturday and charged with murder and attempted murder. He remains in jail after being denied bond on Monday.
What do you make of this case? Is it similar to what happened to Trayvon Martin?

“Trayvoning” Is The Most Disrespectful Sh*t EVER! Article By DJ Doleak

I feel this is just straight disrespectful. A kid laying on the floor with headphones and skittles in his head is now calling this “Trayvoning”. I really feel this is just disgusting. Where does the line get drawn? I mean anybody can get media attention by doing some stupid shit like this. I mean if America does not wake up there could be a serious problem after this George Zimmerman trial. I really feel if George Zimmerman gets off there might be another riot similar to the Rodney King riot. I am just saying America you needs to be careful.

Rodney King Beating And 20 Years Later. Do Blacks And Whites Get Along Now? (Article By DJ Doleak)

As we go in today and reflect on 20 years since the Rodney King beating I ask myself as a country did we learn anything that has taken place from this event. Sometimes, as a Black American I feel as a country we have taken some steps foward then there are times were as a country we take some steps backwards. For an example, President Obama being elected president. I thought that was a big step in the right direction for this country and things were just looking good. Then, not to long after President Obama is elected. We have Henry Louis Gates Jr. an African-American scholar get arrested outside of his home by the Georgia Police after a witness saw Henry Louis Gates Jr. break into his own house from the window because he had locked himself out of his own home. So, after the police come and checks Henry’s ID the police still arrest him at his home for “disorderly conduct”. Is this a case of racism? I totally think so. (Charges were later dropped against Henry Louis Gates Jr.)

Now as a country we are dealing with the black kid Trayvon Martin who was walking home when George Zimmerman a white guy went up to Trayvon and asked him “What are doing in this neighborhood”. After the 911 dispatcher told George not to confront Trayvonn. Then after he confronts Trayvon Martin George Zimmerman proceeds to shoot Trayvon Martin and killing him. George Zimmerman was not arrested until Americans cried murder and racism at the same time.

My thing is have blacks and whites learned to get along since the Rodney King beating? Have police officers and blacks learned to get along since the Rodney King beating? My answer is no for both of these questions. As a whole blacks still don’t trust whites. We feel that whites always have something up their sleeve to con us or to trick us. We feel that whites do not treat us the same as other races which gives us a distrust towards them. The bad history we share with whites as slaves, segregation, racism in the workforce gives us all the reasons to not trust a white person. But then again whites as a whole  feel like blacks always complain. Whites always says to me when we are talking about racism in America “Why don’t you all get over slavery that was a long time ago”. Whites tend to feel that we are not smart enough to be leaders in corporate America and that all we are good at is sports.  It took a camera person to record the beating of Rodney King and to let people know why NWA was saying fuck the police. But look what happened when the police officers that beat up Rodney King got sent to trial. They were found not guilty.

To get racism out of America, will probably never happen but we can start educating people about racism so we as a nation can start closing the gap on racism. These are my thoughts and feelings on racism in America.

Politics and Race: Controversial Trayvon Martin cartoons and Thoughts

This is one of those case that will probably go down as one that will be remembered in history. Sad part is if you have never experienced racism or profiling which alot of people have not then you cant understand on this one . A 17yr old who is 6 feet 160 pounds according to police report verse a grown man who is 5’9 (on his police report it doesn’t state weight ) but I know his friend on a talk show claimed Trayvon outweighed Zimmerman by 40 pounds which is hard to believe when he looks very robust to say the least on television.

Everone has weighed in , Bill Cosby says its about gun rights …. hmmm politicaly yes it is it to is on trial on that level I guess you can throw that in the FLA law is a little on the man holding the guns side ….. but its about a little more Mr. Cosby and Im a fan of yours for blacks at least who have seen there fair share of injustice. This is big and America as a whole has some soul searching in 2012 to do if Zimmerman does go free. Mentally this affects any African American with a male child. In places like Seattle Wa where its colder weather and more common for a teenager to wear a hoodie what do you tell them, that’s normal attire. I dont know all about Zimmerman but I do know when you do something your ashamed of you show remorse and you apologize weak people hide cowards hide this is the neighborhood watch leader ?

Ask yourself whatever race, Im sure if Trayvon was 40 yrs old and would of shot a young white child it would be very different. How would you feel if that was the case ? To those who paint Trayvon as a thug or if it was your child a Latino or young Asian or any race or nationality if he was painted a certain way .

Trayvon Martin’s death has galvanized a divided nation into political action — some demand his shooter be held accountable, while others defend George Zimmerman’s right to bear arms and stand his ground.

While the case continues to develop, bloggers and artists have taken to the web to weigh in on the controversy. Most of these cartoons take a clear political and moral stance, critiquing the polarizing Stand Your Ground law, Florida gun law, and/or racial profiling.

These images are provocative precisely because they suggest strong opinions about issues that seldom enter public discourse, such as the stigma surrounding hoodies, and prejudice against black male youth.

Zimmerman To Be Charged In Trayvon Martin Case

Thank God this is happening. All we wanted was Zimmerman to have a trial. That is all we were asking for. I believe we were not asking for a lot.

George Zimmerman “will be (criminally) charged if (he) hasn’t been charged already,” according to a senior law enforcement source familiar with the Trayvon Martin death investigation.

It’s not clear what the charges would be.

Trayvon Martin Was Killed For Being Black.(Article By DJ Doleak)

What went down on February 26, 2012 has to be pure disgust and racist. Trayvon Martin was killed in Sanford, Florida. A man by the name of George Zimmerman shot Trayvon Martin because he was an African-American in his neighborhood. The Florida Police responded to the shooting and George Zimmerman told police that he shot Trayvon Martin because he was so-called “defending himself”. The police let him go and did no investigation on the case.

Every time I hear about this story it just makes me sick. A black man can’t even walk down the street to get skittles and a drink without being harassed. The killer George Zimmerman is nothing but a racist. Their was not one  bad bone in Trayvon Martin’s body. Trayvon was doing nothing wrong and George Zimmerman had no reason to even approach Trayvon. George Zimmerman coming up to Trayvon and asking him “What are you doing here”. It is none of George Zimmerman’s business. The Florida Police also did a horrible job on this case. They took George Zimmerman’s word over all the evidence and the witnesses. This just proves that America can care less about black people.

I really felt that America had made strides on racism but this one just makes me realize even more that we still have racism out in the world. Sometimes the way stuff goes down and just lets me know that we are still living in the 1950s and 1960s. As much this is making headline news George Zimmerman is still sitting on his couch in a different country eating candy, and laughing on how easy it was to kill a black person in America. I really feel that America still has a lot of soul-searching to do. We will see what the federal and state police will do.

Trayvon Martin Case – President Obama Weighs In: On Video

President Obama gives a great speech about the Trayvon Martin case. This case is just sickening to me. I mean how does the police say that Zimmerman is innocent. President Obama is right that people involved in this case has a lot of soul searching to do.

Geraldo Rivera Blames Trayvon Martin (Or His Parents) For Wearing Hoodie (WTF)

Sunny Rothmiller says WTF Wow! so now you cant wear a hoodie if your BLACK or LATINO , a kid was wearing this …..Oh and for the record it was raining for Geraldo’s rebuttal .

This is sickening to have to even write on this if any of you have children and I don’t care what color you are ask yourself what would you do ? If my son was killed while holding a pack of skittles n ice tea . (see movie a time to kill) that’s how I would feel.
This is terrible that if your a certain race you cant wear a certain attire funny thing is Geraldo I have seen blacks and browns anyone who is not white wear suits and drive nice cars and they still get treated like they are from the gutter and a suspect .

When are people going to learn wrong is wrong period there is no EXCUSE for that man to have shot that boy after being told by the police we have it under control and to fall back . Neighborhood watch is not neighborhood vigilante especially against a 17 yr old shame on any an all who want to defend this man in a town with a known history against minority’s .
