Supreme Reaction says Hate him now or love him he makes moves and this is his latest gonna pop this in the whip and ride out will have review on tommorrow

Without putting out a solo album or mixtape in 2011, Rick Ross managed to have a great year. He bulked up his Maybach Music Group roster, released Self Made, Vol. 1 with the crew, stayed in heavy rotation on radio, and offered more than a few standout features. His album God Forgives, I Don’t was supposed to hit in December, but health issues forced the project to be pushed back. But Rozay isn’t slowing down. Eager to kick of 2012 the right way, the Bawse comes through with this new mixtape, Rich Forever. Hosted by DJ Scream and XXL‘s own Shaheem Reid, the project includes features from Wale, Meek Mill, Drake, 2 Chainz, Nas, Stalley, Birdman, John Legend and Diddy, as well as production by J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League, Boi-1da, Mike WiLL Made It, Beat Billionaire and more.

M.E.D. Classic Album Review: By DJ Doleak

M.E.D. second release on Stones Throw has to be very impressive on the indie scene. M.E.D has been in the hip hop scene for a minute and his first album on Stones Throw I thought was pretty good. I think he had good beats on the first album and he definitely has good beats on this album called Classic.

M.E.D. is not the best emcee to ever pick up the mic but like Evidence he has a good core group of producers that help him a lot. I liked M.E.D. single called Classic which features Talib Kweli. The beat is very soulful with a voice harmony in the song and the beat was done by Karriem Riggins. Oh No also assisted on the album with the song “Where I’M From” which also has Aloe Blacc on the hook. Madlib the Great also produced 10 of the songs which I thought was dope. One of Madlib’s best beats on the song was the song called Get That which had a rapper called POK on the album.POk who I never heard of had a dope hook on the song too.

M.E.D. also had some lackluster subjects which I thought were kind of corny too. He had a song called Medical Card and talking about having one. I thought a lot of the lyrics on that song were sub par and not put together to good. Also to help M.E.D. on the album were Planet Asia,Kurupt, Hodgy Beats, and POK.

If you as a hip hop like dope beats then you should definitely go get the album but if you want to get the album just based on lyrics then you might just want to keep your money in your pocket. The album is definitely not a classic.

Evidence Lists His Influential Emcees, Says Dilated Peoples Album Is Definite

Evidence you really have been doing your thing since this album came out. I mean first and foremost the beats you selected for the album are sick. It was a well done album. The album Cats and Dogs is definitely going to be in my top 10 for 2011. Check out to see Evidence most influential emcees and how Evidence feels about his old work.

With the critical success of last month’s Cats & Dogs, Evidence has given more credence to the idea that sometimes a few years of anticipation is worth the wait. The Dilated Peoples member told Las Vegas radio host Bootleg Kev that he’s changed and fine tuned his writing process. He said he no longer inundates the mic with unchecked emotion, but instead edits himself where he thinks necessary. This, he’s learned from his peers in the game whom he wants to keep up with.

“That comes from hanging out with emcees like Fashawn, Blu, and chillin’ with Jay Electronica and Crooked I–I could just keep naming rappers and all these people I’ve been around who’ve made me wanna be like ‘It’s cool to have a dope voice but I wanna be on songs with these people and not be the weak link.’”

He said that while his first solo album, The Weatherman LP, receives a lot of love from fans, it’s hard for him to listen to.

“I listen to my old stuff and cringe a lot. But a lot of people like it. And I talk to a lot of other artists and [I tell them] ‘Oh, I love your old stuff’ and they be like, ‘Oh I hate that! I want you to listen to this [new stuff].’ We’re just like that as artists. If you wanna make an artist feel good walk up to him and tell him you like his latest release…they love that.”

As far as a Dilated Peoples album releasing, Evidence hopes that one will be released next year. That would make five years since the group released its last album. However, he says the group has already started laying down some tracks. “Things took a little while. Maybe longer than they should have,” he said. “But we’ve dropped nothing weak. [Rakaa's] Crown of Thorns is amazing, Cats & Dogs is living up to expectations…there’s really not much to complain about as far as weak material.”

Marley Marl Recalls Making “Eric B. Is President” & “My Melody”

Marley Marl has to go down as my favorite producer ever. What he built over there with the Juice Crew and laying down dope samples was something else. Here is a man who had no one to look up to in the hip hop game pretty much and he had his own style too. I mean he did have some dope emcees but he did lace them with dope beats. Marley Marly set the bar and blueprint for cats like me.(Rest of the Article Below).

Marley Marl previously stated that he produced the Eric B. and Rakim tracks “Eric B. Is President” and “My Melody” off 1987′s Paid in Full, a claim Eric later denied. While he may have only served as engineer, Marl recalled giving Rakim a shot after Eric, his roommate at the time, asked for studio time to lay down tracks with the up-and-coming rapper.

“Eric B., he was my roommate with me over in Queensbridge. He used to see a lot of cats come in and really start bubbling. He was like, ‘Yo Marl man, I got some dudes who can do this too. Let me get a day in the studio,’” he told Brooklyn Bodega’s Wes Jackson. “He was like, ‘OK, my man’s coming today.’ So we sitting and his man never showed up. ‘Yo, where’s your man at?’ The first man who never showed up was Freddie Foxx. Yo man, I got my other dude form Long Island. He’s dope, I’m telling you. That nigga nice. We’ll give you another shot.”

Over the next week, Marl ended up having a hand in the cuts “My Melody” and “Eric B. Is President,” as well as Biz Markie’s “Make the Music With Your Mouth, Biz” and MC Shan’s “The Bridge.”

“Rakim comes in, rhyming slow, he made ‘My Melody’ first. So collectively, we both had the ideas for the song but I physically put it together. For ‘Eric B. Is President’ and ‘My Melody.’ We made ‘Make the Music With Your Mouth,’ ‘Eric B Is President,’ ‘The Bridge’… I used to call it the sound of the week, so I used to have the kick and snare in the sample. Whatever songs I was making that week had that kick and snare in it.”

Mobb Deep Admits They Slept On Notorious B.I.G. & Lost Boyz

Well DJ Doleak feels this is a big person to sleep on Mobb Deep. I mean I admit Mobb Deep was pretty young at the time Notorious BIG was doing there thing but that is a pretty big mistake. Notorious BIG was running the rap game. He pretty much launched up Diddy’s career. I mean I must say at least they are honest. (Rest of Article Below).

Mobb Deep has revealed that they had the opportunity to record with the Notorious BIG. on the Havoc produced track “Last Day” in 1997, but blew off the chance for collaboration. Speaking with MTV’s Mixtape Daily, Prodigy and Havoc explained that they were strictly focused on their own career and didn’t pay attention to Biggie.

“A lot of the people were coming on the block back in the days when Biggie had ‘Party and Bullsh–,’ his first record, and they would play it. I wasn’t into it,” said P. “I was focused on Mobb Deep. I had tunnel vision: I really didn’t give a f— what anybody was doin’ in rap music, except for Mobb Deep and Nas and our little circle. Everything else was irrelevant to me.”

When presented with the opportunity to duet with B.I.G., the Queens, New York rappers weren’t feeling it. “I told Hav I just really didn’t want to do that. That was my opinion at that time,” said Prodigy, who started listening to Big after he passed. “I started liking Biggie. After he started heating up, I started re-listening to it. I was like, ‘This kid is alright. I like, son.’ [...] Sometimes that happens in life though.”

Havoc explained that he had a similar mindset with the Lost Boyz. “I definitely wasn’t checking for other people. I missed a lot of stuff in the ’90s that I like now. I just had tunnel vision,” he said. “There was a lot of dope acts that was out back in the ’90s, like the Lost Boyz. I never paid attention to their stuff.”

Similar to their attitude towards B.I.G.’s music, Havoc came around to liking Lost Boyz years later. “Now, when I look back on it and I listen to their stuff now, it’s like, ‘Yo, they had that sh–.’ They always kept the party poppin’. I really appreciate their music, and I’m glad that they made it,” he said. “That’s ill that they are even a part of the era that we came from.”

Sarah Palin, Fox News Blast Common

So now Sarah Palin has a problem with Common. I mean Sarah Palin has to be a disgrace for all women. I mean this lady never knows what she is talking about. Now she wants to bash Common for being invited to the White House. She also mad at Common for saying stuff about George W. Bush. She has to be kidding right. I mean George W. Bush has to be one of the worst presidents we ever had. Sarah Palin you know nothing about hip hop. I also can say you are not hip hop.( Check out rest of the article.

Conservatives are not big Common fans. Fox News and former vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin are among the right wingers that voiced their opinions on First Lady, Michelle Obama’s decision to invite Common to the White House tomorrow afternoon (May 11) as part of an event celebrating American poetry.

Fox News called the Chicago lyricist turned actor “vile” for his comments about George W. Bush and Matt Drudge of the Drudge Report wrote on his website: First Lady to host rapper who talks of killing cops, burning Bush.”

Palin took to Twitter to comment on the news. “Oh lovely, White House,” she wrote, linking to an article that featured Common’s spoken word poem from Com’s Def Poetry appearance where he openly criticized the government and former President Bush. [Watch above]

The Grammy-award winning lyricist reacted to the backlash on Twitter himself. “So apparently Sarah Palin and Fox News doesn’t like me,” he wrote.

Tupac’ Biopic Launches Online Casting Call for Lead Role

Ok here we go again. Another movie about Tupac which is great but can we get some one who can act like him. I mean they failed in the Biggie movie to get a good actor. I mean the Tupac in that movie I thought was a joke. Then we just heard Soulja Boy is going to play Bishop in the Juice movie. In which Tupac plays Bishop in the movie Juice which is a classic. I mean if we are going to do a movie on someone lets do it right. Lets not slop something down on screen and try to call it art.

Calling all Tupac Shakur doppelgangers –- with acting chops.

Morgan Creek Productions along with Skee.TV and Karmaloop.TV have teamed together to launch his online casting call to fill the shoes of the slain polarizing rapper in the anticipated (and oft-delayed) biopic “Tupac.”

The casting call begins Friday. Producers are looking for individuals who think they exemplify 2Pac to upload their five-minute video auditions online by April 30.

Fans are also encouraged to check the website often, as additional announcements will be made. Rare video footage and interviews from Shakur’s life culled from his official site will also be featured.

“We are excited to partner with Morgan Creek on this innovative casting call,” said DJ Skee, a disc jockey for KIIS-FM (102.7) who has a weekly show on Sirius XM satellite radio and is the founder of Skee.TV. “This audition process is a great example,” the statement continued, “of utilizing today’s ever-evolving technology to reach fans and actors around the world to pay homage to a hip-hop legend.”

Directed by Antoine Fuqua (“Training Day,” “Tears of the Sun,” “Brooklyn’s Finest”), the film will chronicle Shakur’s prolific rise as a rapper and actor, his controversial legal troubles which included imprisonment, his time at Death Row Records and, of course, his unsolved murder in 1996.

“We’re looking for someone with the right mix of raw charm and charisma for the role,” said producer David Robinson in a statement. “At this point, we’re more concerned about finding someone with the ability to give their entire heart into the performance than just looks and personality.”

Those auditioning have to perform a provided monologue that reads like one of his infamous courtroom proclamations of his innocence (or outbursts, depending on who you ask). Auditioners are also expected to perform a one-minute rendition of a 2Pac song of choice.

Anthony Mackie (“The Hurt Locker”) previously tackled Shakur’s persona in the 2009 Biggie Smalls biopic, “Notorious.” No word on the approach the producers will take in casting Shakur’s one-time friend and eventual foe. Or how it will handle various theories regarding the massive East/West Coast rap beef that prompted their untimely deaths, both in drive-by shootings which remain unsolved despite the slew of conspiracies surrounding them.

“Notorious” famously took the approach of casting an unknown to play Biggie and landed both a look- and sound-alike in Jamal Woolard — who coincidently raps alongside Shakur on his seventh posthumously released studio album, “Pac’s Life.”

“Tupac” will be produced by James G. Robinson, David Robinson and LT Hutton, and executive produced by the rapper’s mother, Afeni Shakur. The screenplay was penned by Stephen J. Rivele, Christopher Wilkinson and Steve Bagatourian. Universal Pictures will distribute the film in the U.S. and co-distributes with Morgan Creek International overseas.

Take a peek at the teaser for the project, and as a bonus for all hopeful thespians out there, Pop & Hiss has also kindly included a reference video of Shakur testifying in a 1995 trial. Please remember to thank us in your upcoming Oscar speech.
